Trimming demo: The Fundamentals of Barefoot Trimming

Learn about the basics of barefoot trimming; equine hoof anatomy and trimming according to the internal structures; and trimming considerations for individual conformation, soundness in work, and building healthy resilient hoof structure.

Bio: Micaela is a trimming and hoof care specialist, and is a certified practitioner through Progressive Hoof Care Practitioners. She works on equines of all kinds and has experience trimming on a wide range of cases, from hard-working riding horses to backyard pasture pets to pathology rehab cases. She has a special interest in nutrition, species-appropriate management, and laminitis prevention and education, and enjoys teaching clients about these subjects as well as how to do some of their own hoof care.
