The 2023 Draft Animal-Power Field Days will be held at the Breeding Barn at Shelburne Farms in Shelburne, Vermont Friday September 29th, Saturday September 30th, and Sunday October 1st.

Whether you are a live power professional, beginning teamster, or just draft-animal curious, we’ll have something for you. 

EVERYONE IS WELCOME. NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!

Active members of DAPNet get 20% off admission!  Free admission for children under 12.

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 29th will feature daylong intensive workshops in Oxen Basics, Draft Horse Basics, Animal Power in Farming, and Animal Power in Forestry.   

Lunch will be provided by The Mill Market and Deli and is included in the cost of your ticket. 

Registration table opens at 7:00 am and Intensives Workshops begin at 8:00 am.

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 30th and SUNDAY OCTOBER 1st will feature shorter sessions throughout the day on live power farming and forestry, draft harness styles from the US and Europe, starting your calves and taking work with your oxen to the next level, as well as equipment demonstrations, round table discussions, wagon rides, Saturday evening benefit auction, Sunday morning annual meeting, and more! 

Saturday lunch is catered by the Mill Market and included in the cost of your ticket.

DINNER TICKETS are also for sale for Friday and Saturday nights.  There are convenience stores, grocery stores, and restaurants of many kinds a  5-30 minute drive from the Breeding Barn, but we will not have food trucks at this year’s Field Days.  If you’d like to have dinner with us, please buy a ticket in advance.

CAMPING is available for free Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.  There are no water or power hookups.  Fires are not allowed at Shelburne Farms.

MERCHANDISE: Our t-shirt pre-order shop is closed but we will have 2023 swag including traditional t-shirts, fitted t-shirts, sweatshirts, and tote bags available for sale at Field Days.

This year’s merchandise designed by the amazing illustrator and winner of our design contest, Natalya Zahn. Oxen, horses, and humans are featured on comfy soft clothes and stylish tote bags, suitable for the barn, the woods, or going to town.

Our 2023 merchandise is screen printed by Amalgamated Cultureworks in Burlington, Vermont and all the profits from the sale go towards putting on the 2023 DAPFD.
